The Biobank Barometer
A Repository of Biological Samples
This Biobank is a population barometer that accumulates categorized, discrete traces of human blood and DNA samples. Although this harvesting of biological matter results in static forms of energy, the resulting research and treatment provides global implications for improving human fecundity and welfare. As the collection of samples from donors is accrued, he purified, anonymous traces are embedded and stored in the isolation of the polluted marshes of the Meadowlands, New Jersey. The remote location maintains a connection to the export and import possibilities of the New Jersey Turnpike, while the building utilizes the tidal and geothermal potentials of the site for the energy systems of the biobank, underlining our dependence on environmental conditions.
